About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our company by identifying and securing new business opportunities within the sports construction industry. You will leverage your existing network, alongside traditional sales methods, to establish and build relationships with key stakeholders, including grassroots sports clubs, independent/private schools, local authorities, large construction contractors, professional sports bodies and organisations, and leisure operators.
Depending on your experience, you may also oversee and manage the Business Development and Marketing department, mentoring the Sales & Marketing team, managing their tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities using your own network and traditional sales methods. Focus on lead generation and building relationships with consultants, QS's, architects, project managers, and clients across various sectors.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, construction contractors, sports clubs, professional sports organisations, independent & state schools, trusts, and leisure operators.
- Department Management: Depending on experience, oversee and manage the Business Development and Marketing department, mentoring team members, managing their schedules, and ensuring the effective execution of tasks.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive business growth, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends within the industry, providing insights and recommendations to the senior management team.
- Client Management: Maintain and nurture existing client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market trends to senior management.
- Exhibitions: Plan for, organise, and execute exhibitions on behalf of the company, depending on agreed events per year.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development, preferably within the sports pitch construction industry or a related field.
- Strong network within the industry, with established relationships with consultants, QS's, architects, project managers, and clients.
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team, with the ability to manage tasks, schedules, and team performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and driven, with a passion for achieving results and contributing to company growth.
- No specific qualifications are required, but industry experience is essential.
