Position: Contracts Supervisor
Location: Tandridge, Surrey
Salary: £33,000 per annum, plus use of a company vehicle

Our client is looking for a skilled Contracts Supervisor to take charge of their Grounds Maintenance team in the Tandridge District. This is an exciting opportunity to manage operations across housing association properties, community green spaces, and urban areas.
About the Role:
As a Contracts Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of up to 10 staff, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with health and safety standards. You will manage schedules, support training, and oversee quality assurance while ensuring efficient resource management.
Key Responsibilities:

Team Supervision and Management:
Lead and support a team of up to 10 staff, including team leaders, in delivering high-quality grounds maintenance services. Assign tasks and oversee operational activities to ensure they align with project goals.

Scheduling and Task Allocation:
Develop and manage annual, monthly, weekly, and daily work schedules. Prioritise tasks to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

Training and Toolbox Talks:
Conduct regular training sessions and toolbox talks to ensure the team is up to date on safety protocols and best practices.

Quality Assurance and Inspections:
Audit and inspect completed work to ensure it meets agreed-upon standards. Address any additional work needed outside of scheduled maintenance.

Stakeholder and Client Communication:
Act as the primary liaison between the team and stakeholders, including clients, customers, and housing officers. Address queries and provide progress updates as needed.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by conducting routine risk assessments and inspections. Take immediate action to resolve any safety issues.

Equipment and Resource Management:
Ensure the availability and maintenance of tools and equipment. Manage resources efficiently and stay within budget constraints.

Operational Support:
Assist with on-the-ground tasks when required, including the operation of horticultural machinery. Occasionally support playground inspections and tree stock management.
Requirements:
- GCSE-level education in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a Grounds Maintenance supervisory role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Organised with excellent time management and administrative abilities
- Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
- Full manual driving licence (ability to tow trailers is a plus)
- A relevant horticultural qualification is preferred, but additional training is available
