The Club offers a well-stocked shop run by our resident professional, as well as a superb Bar & Catering facility operated by our franchisee. About the role:
The role of the General Manager is to execute the strategic plan of the Club designed by the Board. The GM reports direct to the Chair. On a daily basis the GM is the face of the Club, and their key role is that the members and visitors receive the high levels of service required and expected at a top club, while driving revenue and maximising opportunities to sell the Club’s services all within a well-defined budget.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the day-to-day functions within the office and any site requirements as they arise.
· Manage the relationship and contract with the Franchisee.
· Manage the relationship and contract delivery with the Club professional.
· Ensure the Club remains compliant in all aspects of Employment Law, Health & safety, and work with partners to understand changes in these, and any impact this has on the Club. To then highlight and action these.
· Be the face of the Club for visiting parties, Union Days and Club events as needed.
· Manage marketing, highlighting and implementing opportunities to maximise revenues.
· Manage sponsorship and other partners.
· Actively looking to grow revenue, through maintaining and growing membership and society opportunities.
· Manage relationship with Golf & IT software providers.
· Work with the Director of Course to understand the annual program and any effects on visitors/members of course works.
· Work with the Finance partner and highlight any discrepancies in budget the Board needs to be aware of. Manage Invoice validation and payment system.
· Chair Golf Committee, Junior Committee and attend others as needed.
· Attend and assist in the management of Board meetings.
· Be point of contact for England Golf, Yorkshire Union, Harrogate Union and develop relationships with these.
· Be the escalation point for any complaints.
· Be the members go to for any queries they may have and be a positive role model for all.
Candidate requirements:
· Must have management experience of leading at least 5 people – minimum 1 year.
· Golf Club management preferred.
· Must be able to manage their time efficiently.
· Must be able to work with minimal input from others.
· Must be an excellent communicator, that includes listening.
· Experience with EPOS system(s).
· Must be an excellent relationship builder.
· Must have a customer first ethos.
· Any experience with SAGE desirable.
