Are you a gardener that enjoys working in the outdoors and would like to make a real difference to our patients and their families?
Our In Patient Unit and Living Well Centre gardens are a haven of peace and calm for our patients, visitors, and staff.
They are maintained all year round by a team of volunteer gardeners.
We are seeking green-fingered volunteers to help maintain our garden areas in and around the In-Patient Unit, our Living Well Centre, and our Head Office.
Ideally, we are seeking someone who is available on Mondays, but alternative time slots can be arranged.
What you’ll be doing:
Under the leadership of our facilities team, you will be assisting with:
- 'Dead heading' of plants
- Pruning shrubs and plants
- Leaf control
- Planting, weeding and sweeping
- General garden maintenance
- Being a friendly face for patients, families and visitors to the garden; and answering any questions they have, if able to do so
- Promoting the public’s understanding of the work of Isabel Hospice
- Promoting and applying the Isabel Hospice Health & Safety Policy

Am I eligible to apply to volunteer?
We ask that our volunteers are:
- At least 18 years old.
- Interested in volunteering for at least 6 months for at least 2 hours per week.
All volunteers are assessed individually for the volunteer roles they are applying for. We strongly believe in equal opportunities and welcome applicants who are representative of our diverse communities.

All appointments are at the discretion of the facilities team and are subject to a one-month trial period for both parties.
