Our client is a renowned family-run business with over 50 years of excellence in growing and selling award-winning pond plants. Known across the UK for our top-tier quality, vast plant selection, and exceptional service, they supply a wide range of aquatic plants to Garden Centres, Landscapers, and Internet retailers.
Their offerings include over 150 varieties of marginal plants, 40 varieties of water lilies, and a host of oxygenating, floating plants and moisture lovers.
They are seeking a passionate and experienced horticulturalist to join their dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in plant care and has a keen eye for quality. As a horticulturalist, youll have full responsibility for nurturing the plants from the propagation stage until they leave the nursery. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, independence, and a true commitment to maintaining the health and appearance of plants.

Are you the right person for the job?
- Strong background in horticulture, ideally with aquatic or ornamental plants
- Proven plant care and propagation skills
- You must be practical or mechanically inclined
- Able to manage others would be an advantage
- Ability to work independently and with attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to the role
- Experience in a nursery or horticultural setting (preferred)
- You must be flexible and able to do what is required to keep the business successful
What will your role look like?
- Oversee plant care and growth, ensuring each plant meets our high-quality standards
- Run and maintain a potting machine and irrigation system
- Manage the nurserys potting and growing areas
- Coordinate with the propagation team
- Pot and prepare the correct quantity and quality of plants
- Monitor plant health, perform regular quality checks, and address any issues promptly
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and efficient nursery environment

Our client is based in a rural location, it is preferred that you have your own transport. The company plan to relocate in the next 12 years (exact location TBC) and are open to offering a relocation package for candidates willing to move with them in the future.
