We are excited to be working with our client who are a Tree Surgeons, to recruit a Financial Manager to join their Finance Team. We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual with a love of the outdoors and a desire to be part of a high-growth business. You will be joining them on a full-time, permanent basis, working in-person 40 hours per week (flexible for the right candidate). In return, you will receive a salary ranging from upto-£45k per annum, depending on experience.
As the Finance Manager your key responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with the Commercial Director to provide support and insight into financial and operational performance
- Ensure robust financial and accounting systems are in place and take responsibility for owning them
- Produce financial reports, including monthly management accounts
- Communicate and interpret financial data to non-financial managers
- Identify and work with Commercial Director to execute improvements / new systems / upgrades to current processes
- Assist in major projects related to finance function
- Conduct routine financial tasks, including:
o Authorising purchase invoices as necessary
o Preparing wages (reviewing overtime as necessary)
o Payroll
o Submitting pension data
o VAT return reconciliation and submission
o CIS return submission
o Monitoring of sales progress weekly
o Complete necessary checks to ensure accuracy and completeness
o Finalise end of year information before being filed externally
- Manage and provide training to the Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant
What we are looking for in the Financial Manager:
- Degree level or equivalent in Accounting: ACA (pref), ACCA or CIMA
- Previous experience in similar accounting / bookkeeper role
- Experience in Sage
- Knowledge of VAT and CIS rules
- Good Excel and Analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
