Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Garden Maintenance & Soft Landscaping Manager at Willow Alexander Gardens located in Sidcup. As the Garden Maintenance & Soft Landscaping Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing garden maintenance activities, managing a team of gardeners, and ensuring the highest standards of gardening and landscaping practices. You will collaborate with clients, our marketing and sales team as well as the senior management team to deliver a seamless operation of the maintenance division.
Duties include
Daily management of schedule through our field management software
Collaborating with sales department on new client win as well as generating new leads
Site surveys and estimates on all maintenance and soft landscaping projects
Meeting with clients to ensure their gardens are up to code
Daily management of yard and dealing with Team questions
Health and safety protocol
Recruitment of department
Working with the Marketing department on seasonal trends and ideas to drive awareness of the brand.
Overseeing all certification of governing bodies (current and future)
Become the brand ambassador for the department championing our core values and beliefs
Over senior council to all garden team members relating to horticultural care
Happy to jump in on jobs for sickness or absence of team
Qualifications
- Proven experience in garden maintenance and soft landscaping
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, garden design principles, and plant identification
- Experience in managing and leading a team of gardeners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces
- Valid driver's license and knowledge of garden machinery and equipment
- Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally-friendly gardening practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and willingness to work occasional weekends or evenings as needed
Salary dependent on experience
