Key Responsibilities:
In this vital position, you will:
- Maintain all playing surfaces, set up the golf course, and rake bunkers as directed.
- Carry out construction, aeration, and turfing tasks.
- Uphold high standards of customer care and service at all times.
- Follow company Health and Safety policies to ensure a safe environment for customers, visitors, contractors, and colleagues.
- Operate and maintain grass cutting machinery safely and report any issues to your line manager.
- Complete any additional duties as required.
Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Level 6 Certificate in Sports Turf or equivalent.
- Spraying qualifications (PA1, PA2a, PA6).
- Minimum standard grade in English and Mathematics.
- A valid driving licence.
Key Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for candidates with experience in:
- Operating turf maintenance machinery and performing hole maintenance.
- Controlling weeds, pests, and diseases while planning maintenance schedules.
- Identifying turf types and understanding golf course maintenance rules.
- Preparing and maintaining grass swards, and knowledge of fertilisers and chemicals.
- Surveying environmental conditions and effective communication skills.
Desirable Attributes:
While not essential, the following qualifications would be beneficial:
- First Aid Certificate (training can be provided).
- IOSH Working Safely Certificate (training can be provided).
- Familiarity with the game of golf.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing tasks.
