About The Role
As a Facilities Manager, you will perform various duties to ensure the security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the school premises, including handyperson tasks and supervising cleaning staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the welfare of children and young people; serve as a keyholder responsible for the security of the premises, including locking, unlocking, and responding to alarms.
- Identify and report building issues, perform minor repairs, and oversee maintenance tasks.
- Assist in obtaining quotes, supervise contractors for quality and safety, and manage deliveries and storage of supplies.
- Monitor cleaning staff and uphold cleanliness standards in all areas, including outdoor spaces, cloakrooms, and toilets.
- Operate heating, ventilation, and lighting systems efficiently, conduct daily site inspections.
- Manage the school minibus, including cleaning and maintenance, and assist with the upkeep of school grounds.
- Prioritise maintenance tasks, safeguarding, health and safety, including First Aid.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a school Facilities Manager or in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
- A valid full-time driving licence.
