The Organisation
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.
We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other iconic green spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.
We are now looking for a Senior Nursery Worker to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Thursday to Monday.

The Role
As a Senior Nursery Worker, you will support the management and operational delivery of plant production and volunteering at our Hyde Park Nursery.
With a growing area of over 8,000 square metres, you will help produce 450,000 plants annually, ensuring the successful cultivation, health and distribution of seasonal bedding plants across the Royal Parks.
You will lead weekend duties, supporting pest control, delivering on weekend volunteering and other public engagement, conducting crop inspections and overseeing watering tasks. Additionally, you will assist in monitoring the health and growth of plants, providing technical advice where needed.
Your role will also involve:
- Managing and mentoring apprentices
- Maintaining seed and cutting stock and reporting any issues
- Supporting crop spraying and specialist plant growing techniques
- Assisting in propagating plants, including sowing, potting and taking cuttings
- Participating in the despatch of stock to parks, ensuring safe working at all times.
About You
To be considered as a Senior Nursery Worker, you will need:
- Extensive production horticulture experience
- An understanding of propagation
- The ability to identify pests and diseases and knowledge of control methods
- PA1 and PA6 qualifications
- To be first aid trained
