Role Description:
Are you passionate about grass maintenance and dedicated to ensuring top-notch playing surfaces for a football club?
As a Grounds Maintenance Person, your primary responsibility is to work alongside the ground staff, contributing to the upkeep and preparation of playing surfaces at Aggborough Stadium and The Centre of Sporting Excellence to impeccable standards, guaranteeing smooth game days and effective training sessions.
This role encompasses weekend and evening work, making it ideal for those who thrive in a sporting environment or are eager to embrace training opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Execute routine preparation and maintenance tasks for playing surfaces as directed by the Head Groundsman/Stadium Groundsman.
· Ensure the initial marking out and setup of playing surfaces meets the highest standards, leaving no stone unturned in achieving exceptional results.
· Safely operate and maintain the equipment and machinery employed in grounds maintenance.
· Notify the head groundsman of any mechanical defects or equipment breakdowns and take corrective action as instructed.
· Uphold stringent Health and Safety standards, aligning with company policies at all times.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area.
· Contribute to general grounds maintenance tasks concerning the playing surface and its surroundings.
· Foster effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, and end users.
· Interact with customers, clients, and the public, embodying exceptional customer care and promoting the company's image.
· Participate in general ground maintenance activities, including the upkeep and presentation of the site and off-pitch areas.
· Regularly mow pitches using a variety of mowing equipment.
· Engage in aeration, brushing, divoting, seeding, overseeding, fertilising, weed killing and similar turf care maintenance activities using tractors and various attachments.
· Handle marking out of pitches and pre-determined areas, ensuring they are ready for play and training.
· Perform reinstatement and divot repair work following play and training sessions.
· Set up and utilise both traveling and automated irrigation systems for optimal field care.
· Prepare for matchdays by setting up goals, flags, and other necessary equipment.
· Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and assembly of goal equipment in readiness for the new season.
