The Grounds Worker I position will perform all phases of grounds/landscaping work to maintain the 225 acres of JIRDC campus. Activities include but is not limited to care & cultivation of trees & shrubs, including insect & disease control; fertilizing, mulching, weeding, trimming, pruning, planting, transplanting; seeding, sod installation; calibration & mixing of chemicals; maintenance of paved & parking areas; also seasonal snow & ice removal from all roads, docks, building entrances, & parking areas. Position will operate various motorized landscape equipment such as tractors, loaders, bucket & dump trucks, & a large selection of powered/non-powered hand tools associated with the trade.Â
This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Salary Grade NC01 Recruitment Range: $31,200.00 - $45,622.00
Position 60038578 - Maintenance - Monday - Friday, 1st shift  (7:30 am - 4:00 pm), will be required to respond to call back during adverse weather events, and/or emergency situation.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform medium to heavy physical work for considerable time periods, often in extreme weather conditions. Ability to follow oral, written, and visual instructions.Â
