The Home
Dunlarg care home is situated in the peaceful countryside in the village of Keady, County Armagh. The home has easy access to local shops and public transport. Dunlarg is made up of two units and in total cares for 58 residents. Dunlarg provides different categories of care from General Nursing to General Residential Care. Within the categories it can extend to Learning Disability, Mental Health, and Physical Disability under 65. All new residents are met with a warm welcome and are encouraged to enjoy their home from home experience.
The Role
Each of our Homes has a Maintenance person, who is vital in ensuring the safety, comfort and well-being of residents and team members. From fixing leaky taps to organising the repair of electrical systems to maintaining the grounds and ensuring fire safety regulations are met – this is a varied role and a key member of the team. With each repair and maintenance task, you’re not just fixing things, you’re supporting the team in providing excellent care to our residents in their Home.
The Maintenance person is essential in ensuring we can provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for our residents where they feel at home.

About The Role
The Responsibilities:
- Maintains a well decorated, safe, and comfortable environment in and outside of the Home.
- Ensures that Healthcare Ireland’s minimum standards are delivered in all units.
- Identifies and report damage, faults, and other related issues to line manager.
- Liaises with local contractors on site, as required, providing local knowledge and guidance in order that maintenance schedules can be on time.
- Deliver bloods, collect scripts and drive to suppliers when needed
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

Required Criteria
- The Right to Work in the UK
- A minimum of a years experience in a maintenance or similar role
- Basic numeracy and literacy are minimum requirement
- Valid UK driving license and use of a car for company business
Desired Criteria
- Keyboard and PC skills with a basic level of proficiency for the standard range of office applications such as word and excel
