Landscape Technician Charge Hand
Swindon
£24,988 - £26,304 per year
40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm
We have an opportunity for a Landscape Technician Charge Hand to join our Estate Services team, based in Swindon. The Grounds Maintenance team is responsible for completing ground maintenance tasks over various sites across Wiltshire & Berkshire. Daily tasks will include completion of risk assessments, van checks, upkeep of equipment in line with safe working practice, litter picking, shrub pruning, grass and hedge cutting, weed spraying, removal of fly tipping and bin store clearances. If you have experience in a gardening role, using gardening equipment and machinery then this could be the role for you.
The role of Landscape Technician Charge Hand will include:
- Providing support in keeping estates well maintained and clean
- Using equipment and materials in a safe manner as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and the manufacturer’s guidance
- Carrying out all tasks such as spraying, in accordance with supplier guidelines ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements
- Ensuring tools and equipment are kept in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks
- Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
Skills and experiences:
- Pesticide Application Certificate PA1 – PA6 (or equivalent) is essential
- NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline is desirable
- Recent experience of working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is essential
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid Clean UK driving licence
