Caretaker / Maintenance
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Caretaker to join our team. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all children and employees. This role requires someone who has excellent handyman skills and can fix, maintain, and manage the general upkeep of our sites and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of our facilities and equipment, including fixing furniture, fittings and general/minor refurbishments to the grounds and buildings.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they become significant problems.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems as needed.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to customer inquiries and addressing any concerns or issues.
-Ensuring that all statutory health and safety requirements are upheld.
- Use your leadership skills to supervise and train other caretakers or maintenance staff.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and standards.
Qualifications
- DBS check
- Proven experience in maintenance/ Handyman or a related field.
- Painting and decorating skills
- Familiarity with logic controllers and schematics.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
- Fluency in English.
