We are looking for a supervisor to work as part of our Grounds Maintenance team with two Chargehands supported by the Team Leader. Your role would be to help with the supervision and monitoring of staff, which mainly includes employed staff with some agency staff, as well as distributing their work. This role is vital in delivering high quality Grounds Maintenance and Arborist services to the green and open spaces in South Hams and West Devon.
Your days will be busy assigning scheduled work, monitoring the performance of the service and providing feedback to staff on a one-to-one basis. Robust planning is the name of the game to ensure the days works are completed. Efficiency and adaptability will be key to delivering great quality work for our residents, visitors and business to enjoy, working alongside the wider operational team to provide a fantastic service for all.
All this while making sure all Health & Safety procedures and standards are adhered to, including accident and near miss reporting, as our employees safety is the highest priority.
So, what else do you need? Excellent IT skills, a great communication style and a good working knowledge of MS Office. Ideally you will have working knowledge of plant and equipment needed to complete the work, such as chainsaws, strimmers, ride on mowers, blowers etc. The job will be based at Totnes but will be covering the Ivybridge and Tavistock depots too.
