As a Groundsperson working with a team of tree surgeons, you will play a vital role in supporting tree work operations.
The right candidate will have a good team and work ethic with good fitness to deal with day-to-day requirements of an active work life.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ground-Level Assistance
- Assisting arborists during tree work by providing tools, equipment, and other support as required.
- Managing ropes and assisting with lowering branches and other materials safely to the ground.
- Site Preparation and Maintenance
- Preparing the worksite, including setting up safety zones, barriers, and warning signs.
- Ensuring the site is kept clean and organized throughout the job.
- Equipment Handling and Maintenance
- Operating and maintaining chainsaws, chippers, and other ground-based machinery.
- Performing routine checks and maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Debris Management
- Clearing branches, logs, and other debris from the worksite efficiently and safely.
- Operating the wood chipper to process waste materials.
- Stacking and loading logs for removal from the site.
- Health and Safety Compliance
- Following all health and safety guidelines, including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhering to safety procedures for handling tools, machinery, and hazardous situations.
- Team Communication and Support
- Communicating effectively with the team to ensure smooth operations and safety.
- Supporting climbers and tree surgeons by anticipating their needs during jobs.
- Site Restoration
- Ensuring the worksite is left clean and tidy upon job completion.
- Restoring ground areas to a safe and presentable condition.
- Learning and Development
- Gaining on-the-job training to develop arboriculture knowledge and skills.
- Learning proper techniques for rope handling, tool use, and assisting climbers.
A groundsperson plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and success of tree work operations. You’ll be an essential part of the team, contributing to high-quality service for every client.

Pay: £132,000.00 per year
