Job Title: Assistant Caretaker (Multi-Site)
Salary: £24,500 per annum
Hours/Days: 40 hours per week, working on a rota basis between 8am - 8pm, Monday to Sunday (5 days out of 7 with two consecutive days off)
Holidays: 25 days per year, plus your birthday off and all Bank Holidays!

About the Role
Join our dynamic team of Maintenance and Grounds Operatives tasked with delivering quality property and grounds maintenance services for supported housing accommodation.
As an Assistant Caretaker, you’ll enjoy a varied role that combines indoor and outdoor responsibilities. Whether performing handyman tasks, gardening, or cleaning, your day-to-day activities will keep you on your feet, ensuring the properties and grounds are maintained to the highest standard.
This role requires self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail, as you’ll often work independently in a fast-paced environment. Taking pride in maintaining your assigned sites is essential.
Rota Details
This role operates on a rota basis covering all 7 days of the week. You will work 5 days out of 7, with two consecutive days off each week. The rota is prepared one week in advance to ensure adequate notice and help you plan ahead.
Your working hours will fall between 8am and 8pm, allowing for a structured schedule that fits within the team’s operational needs. Flexibility and reliability are key as part of this rotational approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as painting, decorating, and general handyman duties
- Perform gardening and grounds maintenance
- Manage communal, void, and carpet cleaning
- Carry out waste removal, window cleaning, and pest control
- Handle jet washing and other property upkeep tasks
- Conduct health and safety and compliance inspections
- Address other caretaking tasks as needed
On-the-Go Work Style:
This is an "on-the-go" role, meaning you’ll typically start and end your day from home, traveling between multiple locations. While you won’t have a fixed desk, you’ll have access to EHSL’s network to stay updated on administrative tasks and receive your assignments.
