An exciting new opportunity has arisen at Ogbourne Downs Golf Club as we seek an Apprentice Greenkeeper.
What is greenkeeping?
Greenkeeping is the upkeep and maintenance of all aspects of a golf course, this creates a wide range of jobs in an outdoor environment. Jobs range from maintenance of cutting grass at differing heights, raking bunkers, changing hole locations, fertiliser applications and operating machinery such as tractors and implements to more project based jobs such as construction, installing irrigation, turfing and tree/shrub/woodland felling and maintenance. The Club
The golf club prides itself as a friendly, welcoming club located on the outskirts of Marlborough and is set amongst the rolling hills of The Wiltshire Downs. The 18 hole layout embraces its quirky downland shapes, wide fairways, wispy rough and is dominated with fescue in all playing surfaces. The club wish to appoint an Apprentice Greenkeeper to assist the team in the daily running of tasks and projects. Staff levels are currently based at four full time members of green staff, backed up with part time and seasonal members of staff for additional support.
The Person
· No experience necessary
· Driven, hard-working and enjoy the outdoors
· Willingness to learn
· Knowledge of the game of golf is desirable but not essential

Pay: £7.00-£9.00 per hour
