Gritting Operative
£150 - £300 Self Employed
Locations – London and surrounding areas.
The Grounds Care Group carry out Grounds Maintenance, Landscape Improvement works, Bulk Waste removal, Japanese Knotweed treatments, Gritting/Snow Clearance and Winter Maintenance services for multiple clients across the UK.
We are seeking Gritting Operatives to assist us throughout the gritting season. Starting October 2024 – March 2025.
You will be working through the night at various locations including shopping centres, residential etc. We will provide you with the salt.
This job will suit you if you are seeking extra money in the winter and you must be able to work through the night. You would be working on a self-employed basis so will need to invoice us and hold/gain public liability insurance.
We have the following opportunities available:
§ You to own a van, for hand gritting (You will need to be happy taking bagged salt in your van)
§ You to own a van and we provide you with a gritting trailer
§ You to drive our 4x4’s with our gritters on the back
We will provide you with everything you need to get started and support you with the process.
Essential skills required:
§ You will need to hold a UK driving licence (max 3 points)
§ Be physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg bags of salt
§ Be able to speak / write the English language
§ Have the right to work in the UK
§ Have access to a smart phone / emails
A B+E category licence would be a bonus but is not essential.
