Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Grounds Maintenance Operative (Gardener) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the outdoor areas of social housing properties within Epping, Loughton, Debden, and Chingford. Your work will contribute to creating safe, clean, and appealing environments for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, weeding, and planting to maintain high standards of outdoor areas.
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency in their use.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of hard landscaping features such as pathways, patios, and fencing.
- Ensure that all garden areas are kept tidy and free from litter, debris, and hazards.
- Monitor the health of plants and lawns, identifying and addressing any issues, such as pests or diseases, as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies while working in residential areas.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents and address any inquiries or concerns professionally.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, or landscaping is preferred.
- Knowledge of plants, horticulture, and landscaping techniques.
- Ability to operate gardening machinery safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A full UK driving license is required.
