About you:
We are looking for an exceptionally organised person who can demonstrate great attention to detail and also has a very high level of practical ability. You will be comfortable in self-auditing sites to assess the works required, prioritising jobs and communicating your needs and decisions clearly to your supervisor.
We want you to be the person that sees things before anyone else, someone who works in a proactive and preventative way to ensure our campus is safe, secure and a pleasant place to live, work and visit. You will ensure deadlines are met and seasonal task are completed at the best possible times. A love of the environment, a drive to help increase biodiversity and desire to operate in a sustainable manner would also help you to succeed in this role.
You will need to be a team player, while you will have individual tasks to undertake and section to manage you must also be aware of the bigger picture, helping us to ensure that all areas of the campus are presented at their best and that yourself and your colleagues are able to meet their deadlines and deliver our service requirements on a daily basis.
Your place of work may vary and due to the early start times, you may not be able to rely on public transport and you may well require your own means of transport.
You must love what you do, and if you do, we will provide you with an environment and the support to flourish. Your duties are exceptionally varied, and we can guarantee you will never be bored working across our 150acre site with many horticultural features. We want you to be able to pass your knowledge and most importantly your enthusiasm onto our existing team.
Where is this role based?
This position will cover horticultural and grounds maintenance duties across all UWE campuses, Bower Ashton, Glenside and our lively Frenchay campus.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.

This is a full-time permanent position consisting of 37 per week Monday to Friday, the hours of work will be 6am until 2pm Monday to Thursday and 6am until 1.30pm on Fridays.
There is a requirement for this role to join a weekend overtime rota, a minimum of 2 additional days per month.
This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
