EQUANS is currently recruiting a Security Manager to join the team at Southern Water, with responsibilities across various locations in and around Hampshire and Kent. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Security Manager to oversee all aspects of physical security across our buildings and grounds, ensuring the protection of valuable assets, infrastructure, and the safety of our team and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Security Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing a team of security personnel, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Overseeing the implementation of security policies and ensuring compliance with security protocols and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing forward-thinking security strategies to mitigate potential threats.
- Managing security operations including threat assessments, incident response, and crisis management.
- Regularly reviewing and updating security procedures, reports, and contingency plans.
- Overseeing the use of security technology, such as CCTV and electronic security systems.
- Managing the security budget, including preparing business cases for significant expenditures.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to security and data protection.
- Leading the security response in major incident teams and acting as Incident Manager during emergencies.
- Collaborating with various project teams, stakeholders, and external partners to enhance security practices.
Essential Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- Proven management experience within the security industry, with at least three years of experience working with Equans.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, including relevant legislation and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Advanced IT skills, including proficiency with MS Office and electronic security systems.
- Experience in preparing business cases, managing staff rosters, and drafting reports.
- The ability to manage financial reviews, control budgets, and deliver value for money.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Availability to travel to all site locations and be on-call for emergency situations.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 5 Leadership and Management diploma or equivalent.
- Workplace First Aid or Mental Health First Aid certification.
- COSHH / IOSH Diploma or ISO9001 Lead Auditor course.
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certification.
- Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection regulations.
- CCTV SIA license or experience with security risk assessments.
