Transport Compliance Manager (Waste Sector)
Location: Ealing
Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum, based on experience
Our client provides high-quality Waste Collection, Street Cleansing, Grounds Maintenance, Parking Enforcement and other environmental services for their customers, the London Borough of Ealing, its residents and other service users.
The Role
They have recently brought their fleet maintenance operation in-house and are now looking for a dynamic hands-on Transport Manager to manage transport related compliance at their Greenford depot.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Vehicle Operator Licence conditions are being met and are fully compliant.
- Manage driver records including Driver Hours, Breaks, Digital Tacho data, Infringements.
- Utilise telematics data, analyse and report on driver behaviour, actively look to nurture safe driver practices.
- Actively engage in pre and post shift driver/vehicle Gate Checks.
- Work alongside HSEQ and Training academy to onboard new drivers as well as manage the licence checks & DQCPC of existing drivers.
- Ensure that Company Policies, Regulatory Standards and Statutory requirements are updated on relevant platforms and fully compliant.
- Manage the accident / Incident process, regularly engage with insurance provider(s) and investigate accidents to provide direct actions.
- Manage Short-Term Hire vehicles and look for opportunities to provide cost saving via various industry lease options.
- Take pro-active approach in analysing Transport systems, Fuel Hub, Checkedsafe, Vision, Masternaut (Michelin) and provide improvement plans.
- Engage with wider stakeholders and suppliers to create best practice for GEL.
- Create a team environment that supports delivery of the highest possible service standards internally and externally.
- Model good leadership within your team and support supervisors and managers of various departments in transport related matters.
- Engage with multiple stakeholders, understand local authority frameworks in procuring future vehicles/Ground maintenance machinery.
Skills And Qualifications
- Must possess extensive experience of working at supervisory/ management level in a Transport management role.
- Be self-motivated with excellent I.T, numeracy, communication and people management skills.
- A full drivers licence is required.
