Evermore Orlando Resort is an innovative 1,100-acre resort adjacent to Walt Disney World® featuring centrally owned upscale and upsized vacation rental homes, flats & villas, a luxury Conrad hotel, 36 holes of world-class Jack Nicklaus golf, and a massive 20-acre tropical beach complex around Evermore Bay, our 8-acre crystalline water amenity by Crystal Lagoons®. The surrounding beach areas feature zero-entry swim areas, bars, cabanas, private firepits, a lively food hall & gourmet market, a casual dining restaurant, and an event Boathouse that will provide a picture-perfect backdrop for weddings, banquets, and corporate meetings. Key Responsibilities
- Interact with golfers, answer questions, and provide directions with particular attention to great guest service.
- Assist in the daily upkeep of the golf course grounds and landscaping, including mowing, edging, trimming, and maintaining sand traps and bunkers.
- Maintain golf courses by mowing, trimming, edging, and treating turf as directed by supervision.
- Operates fly mowers to mow bunkers and lake bank roughs.
- Operates motorized trimmers to prune bushes, shrubs, and hedges.
- Perform routine maintenance on power equipment and maintains hand tools in good working condition.
- Operate and maintain basic groundskeeping equipment, such as fly mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles.
- Support landscaping efforts by planting, weeding, and pruning to enhance the visual appeal of the golf course.
- Repairing divots and course clean up.
- Grade and prepare soil, plant beds, lays sod, and plants vegetative material.
- Rake and maintain sand bunkers to ensure they are in excellent playing condition.
- Keep course edged and pruned, edge cart paths, yardage markers, and drainage catch basins.
- Repairs wash outs on golf course.
- Participate as support staff on any special projects.
- Maintain ball washers, course signage, course roping, and tee marker placement.
- Safely utilize various carts for transportation.
- Keep storage area clean, organized and stocked.
- Keep assigned tool locker clean, organized, and items in good condition.
- Follow all company, departmental, safety and security policies and procedures.
- Identify and report any course hazards or areas requiring repair to the management team.
- Work closely with experienced maintenance personnel to acquire knowledge and skills related to golf course maintenance.
- Report maintenance needs to supervision on a timely basis.
- Follow the work schedule and completes job assignments as directed by supervision.
- Request materials and/or tools needed to perform work activities to supervision on a timely basis.
- Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis.
- Reports equipment problems or failures to supervision as encountered.
Additional Responsibilities
- May learn and operate higher level equipment occasionally until proficiency is acquired.
- May perform repairs to the irrigation system.
- May participate as support staff on any special projects.
- May apply fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed by supervision.
- May assist in providing support for golf tournaments.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Experience as a greenskeeper preferred, work history performing manual labor required.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of ground maintenance and landscaping techniques.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used for lawn care such as rakes, shovels, mowers, hedgers, edgers, trimmers, blowers, etc.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Ability to problem solve issues with power tools and other assigned equipment.
- Attention to detail to ensure the golf course is maintained to the highest standards.
- Understanding of the basic principles of golf.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions independently without the need of an interpreter.
- Ability to understand immediate safety commands in the common language (English) without hesitation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capable of performing role in a busy work environment.
- Capable of working scheduled hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment in a safe manner.
- Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping in a safe manner.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
- Strong time management skills.
Licenses And Certifications
Valid Florida Driver’s License required upon hire and required throughout employment.
