The Role:
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative within the Estates Delivery Team in UK Defence Operations, you will provide support by delivering planned or requested activities to effectively deliver a high quality grounds operations service.
Day-to-day, you will:
Deliver grounds maintenance services, identifying areas for improvement, additional demand and to ensure first and last impressions on the site are maintained
Deliver specialist grounds services including attention to pest & tree hazards
Maintain knowledge and awareness of grounds, land legislative standards and technical requirements
Form part of the on-call rota during periods of inclement weather; supporting site preparations & response to enable safe access and use of premises
Ensure robust application of health, safety & environmental procedures and processes
Oversee the conduct of contractors on site, monitoring the implementation & performance of tasks allocated
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week based at our MoD Shoeburyness site.
Essential experience of the Grounds Maintenance Operative:
Previous experience in Grounds Maintenance
Experience using strimmers, ride-on mowers, or tractors
Ability to safely deploy equipment
Manual Handling awareness
Qualifications for the Grounds Maintenance Operative:
Full UK driving licence
Appropriate Plant LANTRA or C&G Qualification
