About the Role:
As a Soft Landscaping Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing soft landscaping projects. Your expertise in turfing, planting, and soil/bed preparation will ensure that all projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of landscapers in soft landscaping projects.
- Oversee all aspects of turfing, planting, and soil/bed preparation.
- Ensure proper installation and maintenance of lawns, gardens, and plant beds.
- Conduct site assessments to determine the best landscaping solutions.
- Coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and compliance on all job sites.
- Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Manage resources, including equipment, materials, and labor.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of project activities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in soft landscaping, particularly in turfing and planting.
- Strong knowledge of soil and bed preparation techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret landscaping plans and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in landscaping or horticulture are a plus.
Beneficial Requirements:
- Ability to tow trailers (B+E license or demonstrable training preferred).
- PA1 & PA6 license.
- CSCS card.
- SSSTS qualification.
- Plant machinery tickets (e.g., mini-excavator up to 5 tonnes, dumper) would be advantageous.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 0700hrs start, with finish times between 1500-1700hrs depending on the day's work.
- Travel can vary, up to 1hr 30mins drive away.
- Overtime is sometimes available on a Saturday and paid at 1.5x the normal rate.
