Position Summary
As Outside Electrical Services Technician, you will provide maintenance and technical support to the customer and provide technical support of Stabilized Glide Slope Indicators (SGSI) systems and components and Electric Motor Repair as a subject matter expert. You will use technical documents (JFMM, Instructions, NSTMs, Military standards, Test memos, Test Standards, Drawings and Technical Manuals) that contain information required to accomplish work. This position will be under limited supervision.
Contract Specifications
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance with the exception of Electric Motor Repair
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: - Stabilized Glide Slope Indicators (SGSIs)
- Individual shall troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, overhaul, assemble, install, and test SGSI equipment including F300, F500, and F600 assemblies and components.
- Individual shall conduct in-shop operational testing upon completion of work on SGSIs in accordance with established procedures.
- Individual shall deliver and pick up SGSI components and parts at the Corrosion Control Shop for preservation.
- Electric Motor Repair:
- Individual shall disassemble, inspect, pre-test, overhaul, rewind, and assemble various size U.S. Navy ship A/C motors.
- Individual shall balance and conduct vibration analysis testing of overhauled and rewound motors.
Required Education, Skills, And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Drivers License
- Minimum 4 years' experience repairing, upgrading and performing condition assessments, performing diagnostic inspections and fault isolation.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions, or drawings and to conduct activities in a safe manner
- Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedure appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience:
- U.S. Navy electrical skills and training.
Physical Demands and Expectations:
- Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, standing
- Be able to lift, carry and move objects up to 50lbs
- Noisy conditions Industrial work environment
- Maneuvering around tight spaces in a shipboard environment
