Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Groundworker to join our team for a landslip project in Somerset, Taunton. The successful candidate will be responsible for reprofiling verges to expose gullies and laying kerbs to improve drainage. This role requires a strong understanding of groundwork, drainage systems, and kerb laying.

Our client is a successful Civil Engineering Contractor with offices in Redditch and Leeds. They are well-established in the industry, delivering projects from conception through to on-site project delivery. The company operates across a variety of sectors including water and wastewater, infrastructure and coastal protection, highways, bridges, and Railway Civils works.
Project Details:
This project will commence on the 21st of October and is expected to last for 6 to 7 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Preparation: Clear and prepare the site for construction activities, including vegetation removal and site levelling.
- Drainage Installation: Install and maintain drainage systems to ensure proper water flow and prevent flooding.
- Kerb Laying: Lay kerbs accurately to specified levels and alignments to improve site drainage.
- Reprofiling Verges: Reprofile verges to expose gullies and ensure effective drainage.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations on-site, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain construction equipment such as excavators, dumper trucks, and cement mixers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals to ensure project requirements are met.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Groundworker, particularly in kerb laying and drainage installation.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy materials and equipment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in setting out, measuring, and levelling.
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent certification.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in construction safety standards.
- Previous experience with landslip projects or similar civil engineering tasks.
