The Prospects Trust is a charitable social enterprise and exists to support adults with additional needs (our Co-workers) to grow and learn new life and independence skills through hands on learning at Snakehall Farm and the Garden Team in Reach and at our shop Unwrapped in Ely. The Trust ploughs back all its profits into the charity to further benefit our Co-workers.
This role will assist our Garden Team Lead in delivering meaningful work experience sessions in the local community. The Garden Team undertakes all manner of gardening services from routine garden maintenance to soft landscaping projects. The Post holder will also work onsite at Snakehall Farm. The successful candidate will be confident supporting others while working independently within the community and be a confident driver of large vehicles and of using power tools.
Summary of Main Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and safe work sessions for Co-workers
- Assist in the scheduling of daily work planning to provide meaningful work experience while balancing the needs of customers
- Complete garden team contracts to a high standard, lone working with Co-workers
- Follow Garden Team daily schedule and keep accurate electronic records
- Ensure health & safety standards are met at all times and that all tools, equipment, machinery and vehicles are fit for purpose, safe to use and stored securely
- Work in line with The Trust’s values and ethos
- Maintain The Prospects Trust’s image and reputation internally and externally
- Work alongside Co-workers outdoors in all weathers
- Work onsite at Snakehall Farm
- Support the active production of crops, products and services of The Trust
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: Entry Rate £11.44 rising to Standard rate £12.00 per hour after induction and probation.
Expected hours: 35 per week Monday to Friday 9 to 4pm
Must be over 22 to be able to drive our commercial vehicles
