Summary
The Residential Area Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of residential landscape maintenance accounts. The Account Manager must have a strong work ethic, enjoy interacting with the public, and oversee multiple large residential clients.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Business Development: Solicit new residential maintenance contracts for Homeowner Associations, industrial, or residential clients.
Building an Outstanding Production Team: Develop employees and foster a supportive team environment.
Managing Production: Ensure high-quality service by understanding basic horticultural concepts and promoting efficiency and safety at all times.
Customer Satisfaction: Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication, relationship building, and regular site visits.
Selling Enhancement Services: Promote and coordinate enhancement services to improve site conditions; collaborate with other branch employees and customers to ensure timely and on-budget completion of projects.
Safety: Ensure a safe environment for employees, customers, and the general public.
Client Liaison: Act as a liaison between clients and the branch, ensuring receivables are current and managing collections if necessary.
Budget Management: Maintain monthly budgets and report results to management.
Company Culture: Demonstrate integrity and ethics, and positively promote the company culture.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Supervision: Oversee all residential account managers and production managers.
Purchasing: Handle supply purchases for all crews.
Client Relationships: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, focusing on delivering quality service and proactive communication.
Property Walks: Develop and maintain a schedule for conducting property walks with clients during formal meetings to ensure service and quality expectations are met.

Education/Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is required: Agricultural Business, Horticulture, Agricultural Science, Landscape Maintenance, Agronomy, Floriculture, Forestry, Plant and Soil Science, Environmental Design, Turf Grass, or Landscape Architecture. Alternatively, a 2 or 4-year degree in a horticulture-related field or equivalent experience in a service industry is acceptable. Relevant experience of 4 to 6 years is preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence. Capable of presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to clients, customers, and other employees.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the internet, and email is preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role has supervisory responsibilities over all residential properties, crews, managers, and related staff. A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in the landscape industry is required, along with 5 years of customer service, management, and leadership experience.

Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and peripheral vision. While performing job duties, the employee is required to talk or hear and frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, and reach with arms.
