II. Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Golf Caddie to join our team at Erin Hills Golf Course. As a Golf Caddie, you will provide exceptional service and support to golfers, enhancing their overall golfing experience. Your responsibilities will include carrying golf bags, offering advice and insights on course conditions, providing club recommendations, and maintaining a high level of professionalism throughout, all by enhancing our Guest's satisfaction and incorporating the Erin Hills Mission Statement goals.
III. Primary Responsibilities
Areas of Responsibility: The Erin Hills Caddie Barn, Bag Drop/Practice Facilities, Golf Course
Responsible For
- Bag Carrying: Responsible for carrying golf bags, ensuring proper weight distribution and maintaining a steady pace throughout the round. Offer assistance in retrieving and replacing clubs as needed.
- Course Knowledge: Possess a comprehensive understanding of the golf course layout, including hazards, distances, and unique features. Provide accurate yardages and advice to golfers on club selection and shot strategies.
- Golfer Support: Establish a positive and professional rapport with golfers, offering exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Assist with tasks such as cleaning golf clubs, repairing divots, raking bunkers, and tending flagsticks.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with golfers, providing clear and concise instructions, advice, and encouragement. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt communication style to different golfers' preferences.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure golf carts, pull carts, and other golf-related equipment are maintained and prepared for use. Report any maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Pace of Play: Monitor the pace of play and proactively take steps to maintain an appropriate speed, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all golfers. Keep groups informed of their position on the course and assist in managing any bottlenecks.
- Knowledge of Rules and Etiquette: Possess a solid understanding of golf rules and etiquette. Enforce course policies and regulations, assisting golfers in adhering to proper golfing etiquette.
- Safety Awareness: Promote safety on the course by identifying potential hazards and taking appropriate action to prevent accidents. Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures and act accordingly in case of an emergency.
Requirements
IV. Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Golf Caddie is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Strong knowledge and passion for the game of golf, including a good understanding of golf rules, etiquette, and different playing strategies.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide a positive and engaging experience for golfers.
- Physical fitness and the ability to walk long distances, carry a golf bag, and withstand various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, with the ability to adapt to different personalities and preferences.
- Professional demeanor, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Expected to work full time/part time depending on availability and need
- Must be at least 18 years of age
