For a February start, an exciting opportunity has arisen in the Cheltenham College Estates Team for a full-time Gardener. (Consideration would be given to different hours of working or possibly part-time hours, for the right candidate).
Reporting to the Head Gardener, you will work as part of a small, close-knit team delivering a high standard of garden maintenance and hard and soft landscaping within the Cheltenham College campus.
We seek a reliable individual, with good initiative and the ability to work unsupervised. A good knowledge of horticulture and a qualification in horticulture, or a similar discipline, would be preferable but not essential. Candidates must be able to maintain a positive attitude in all winds and weathers.
The role will involve: Assisting the Gardening team in day-to-day tasks such as hand weeding, pruning, mowing and leaf clean-up. Transporting equipment and personnel safely around property and assisting in the completion of other tasks as directed.
As well as the requirements listed above, this role would require a full, clean driving licence and preferably experience of driving a trailer. PA1 and PA6, brush-cutter and chainsaw certification is desirable but not essential; on-the-job training can be arranged.
Salary: £25,188.00 per annum.
Hours of work: 39 per week from 7am to 3.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 7am to 2.30pm on Friday with 30 minutes lunch break. Additional hours and weekend work may be required as and when specific College functions dictate.
